Privacy Policy — Crew

Crew is used in two ways:

• Company account: an HR/CRM system companies use to manage attendance, tasks, customers and field-visit tracking.
• Free account: anyone can sign up with an email address. It covers calls, meetings and chat only; the other screens show sample data, not real records.

1) Data we collect

• Account: name, email address, mobile number, profile photo. Company accounts add an employee ID and job title.
• Calls, meetings and chat: we keep a record of who called whom, when, and for how long, plus chat messages and their attachments. Call audio and video travel directly between devices (WebRTC); they do not pass through our servers and are never recorded.
• Attendance (company accounts only): check-in/out times, GPS location at the moment of punch, and an approximate place name at punch only.
• Live location (company accounts only): when the employee enables it themselves, the app collects the device location periodically — including in the background — and only during the attendance window. It stops automatically at check-out.
• CRM data (company accounts only): customer details the employee enters.
• Audio: speech-to-text processed on-device where possible.
• Device info: device model and OS for security and diagnostics.

2) Contacts — prominent disclosure

Being found by your number

Someone who knows your exact, complete email address or mobile number can find you in order to call you. There is no browsable directory, and no partial search by name or by part of a number. You can switch off discovery by number in Settings → Let people find me by my number, after which only people who know your email address can reach you.

3) Why we collect it

• Provide calls, meetings and chat, and deliver notifications to your device.
• Let you find people you already know without exchanging further details.
• Verify attendance, compute working hours and track field visits (company accounts).
• Manage tasks, customers and sales pipeline (company accounts).

4) Background location — prominent disclosure

Location tracking is OFF by default and is not available on free accounts. On a company account it only starts after the employee enables it and accepts the in-app disclosure. When enabled, the employer may see the employee's location during the attendance window only, for work purposes. Collection continues in the background for route accuracy and stops automatically at check-out.

5) Data sharing

• We do not sell your data.
• Company accounts: data is stored on the employer's own server and visible only to the employee's relevant managers.
• Free accounts: data is stored on our servers, no employer can see it, and nobody sees it but you and the people you communicate with.
• We use Google (FCM) and Apple (APNs) push services to alert your device to incoming calls.
• OpenStreetMap is used to display maps.
• Condensed customer data may be sent to an AI provider to generate follow-up suggestions when the “AI Assistant” is used (company accounts).

6) Retention & security

• Address-book number hashes: never retained — matched, then discarded.
• Company account data: retained for the duration of the employment relationship and per the employer's legal requirements.

We apply reasonable security measures (encrypted transport, restricted access).

7) Your rights

You may access, correct or request deletion of your data. On a company account, contact the employer responsible for your account; on a free account, contact us at the address below and we will delete your account and its data. You can also disable location tracking or discovery by phone number at any time in the app settings.

8) Children

The app is for professional use by working adults and is not directed to children under 18.
